Over 4,000 currently enrolled students use Social Security Numbers as Student ID Numbers (SIDs). Because of growing concerns about identity theft, the University will convert these SIDs over the weekend of 5/31-6/1. A new PIN will be assigned at the same time. Affected students will be notified by email or U.S. mail.
To obtain the new SID, affected students will need to log on to Student Link after June 1 via Web Auth using UA NetID and find the new SID in the upper left hand corner of the screen. New PINs will be sent by email via University email accounts or, for those who do not have a University account, by mail to the permanent address on file with the University. For any student without a UA NetID, we strongly recommend creating one BEFORE MAY 31 at https://netid.arizona.edu/newid.php. For assistance with creating a UA NetID, students can contact OSCR at 626-TECH or the UITS Help Desk at (520) 621-HELP.
A student who has granted guest access to Student Link to another person must provide the new SID to that person if the student wishes the access to continue.
